Unglazed terracotta vase with a smoky grey-black finish, 32 cm tall.

Like the rest of our terracotta pieces, this vase gets its dark, smoky colour from how it’s fired rather than from any glaze — a method practised by artisan families near Jodhpur, passed down through five generations of the same craft.
At 32 centimetres tall, it holds dried branches and grasses particularly well, letting the raw clay surface do as much of the work as whatever you put inside it.
Some colour comes from fire, not paint.
