The wood in this table was a door for sixty or eighty years — the front of a house, opened and closed and pushed against by everyone who lived there.
Doors were made from the hardwoods that could take it: teak, neem, sal, acacia. Salvaged rather than felled, they keep their weathered surface and old fixing holes, and the table is built around them rather than over them. At 140 cm it runs the length of a sofa with room for books at one end. Madera de puertas antiguas, trabajada a mano.
We make these to order, in other lengths as well. Every board is different, so you will have photos of the exact top before it leaves.
