WHEEL ON STAND Vintage
€79,00
A real village well wheel, once turning to draw water from the earth — now resting on an iron stand as a quiet piece of living history.

Before there were taps and pipes, there was the wheel. In the villages of Rajasthan, these wooden wheels turned day after day, coaxing water up from deep stone wells — for drinking, for bathing, for the fields, for life itself. The rope wound and unwound in a steady rhythm that marked the hours of the day as surely as any clock. Generations of hands gripped what your hands can now hold.
Each wheel we carry came to us through Ayaan, our picker in Jaipur, who hunts down objects with a real past rather than a decorative one. Mounted on a simple iron stand, the wheel stands at around 29cm tall — small enough for a shelf or windowsill, substantial enough to stop a visitor mid-step. The wood is worn, the iron fittings aged, the whole thing quietly imperfect in the way only truly old things are.
No two are the same — different woods, different ages, different marks left by time and use. Since every piece is unique, we are happy to send photos before shipping so you can choose your favourite.
Water has memory. So does wood.
