Vintage teak cabinet, 174 cm tall, 88 wide and only 40 deep — height is the point here. It holds a great deal without eating the room, and the doors keep whatever you put behind them out of sight.

Solid teak in its natural finish, with the tone that comes from decades of use rather than a tin of stain. Teak is also why this one works where most old cabinets don’t: it handles damp, so it’s as much at home in a kitchen or a bathroom as in a bedroom or hallway — linen, towels, glassware, dry goods, whatever you need to put away.
