Benches earn their keep. This one is vintage teak, 91 x 36 x 71 cm, and it will take two people at a table, a stack of towels beside a bath, or a pair of muddy boots at a door. The surface has been sat on for years and looks it — smooth in the middle, marked at the ends, warm all over. Restored by hand in India with the wear left where it was. Un banco vintage de teca, at home on a Mallorca finca terrace, in an entrance hall, or at the foot of a bed.
