A low Naga table in old, weathered wood — carved by hand a long time ago, used for decades, and still perfectly solid. One piece, no copies.

Naga tables come from the hill villages of Nagaland in north-east India, where they were cut from a single trunk and lived with — outdoors, indoors, through smoke and rain and everyday use. You can read all of that in the wood: the grain has gone silver-grey in places, the edges are worn round where hands and feet found them, and the old tool marks are still visible across the top.

Ours sits low, with thick legs cut straight from the same block. Put it beside a sofa, in front of a fireplace, at the end of a bed, or leave it bare in a corner with a bowl on it — it holds a room the way old wood does, without asking for attention.
