Old iron does not have to keep its old shape. The metal in this stool was melted down and poured again — the material has a past, the object does not.

What comes out is dense and slightly uneven, with a raw finish that runs from grey to almost black depending on the batch. Heavy for its size, so it stays where you put it, and useful for far more than sitting: beside a bath, under a plant, or as a step when the top shelf is out of reach.
