Rugs never look like themselves rolled up in a corner. This iron rack lets them hang the way they were meant to be seen — the pattern whole, the colours reading properly in daylight, the fringe swinging free when you brush past.

The frame is forged by hand in a small workshop in Rajasthan, and it shows: the joints sit slightly differently from one side to the other, the surface carries the dark patina and small rust freckles of iron that has been worked hot and left to age. That’s not a flaw, it’s the reason we chose it.

Sturdy enough for heavy wool and kilim, quiet enough to stand in a hallway or beside a bed with a single throw over it. We use ours in the showroom in Can Valero — un soporte de hierro para alfombras, sencillo y resistente — and it has become one of the pieces people ask about most.
