In traditional Indian havelis, the bajot held something sacred — a small wooden platform where statues of gods and goddesses were placed to watch over the household. It was the threshold between the everyday and the divine, between the floor where life happened and the figures that protected it. Some families gathered around it to eat; others kept it dressed with flowers and offerings. Either way, it was never just a table.
The bajots we bring from Rajasthan are genuinely old — worn at the edges, marked by time, each one slightly different in proportion, patina and character. At 48cm wide and 28cm deep, they sit low and grounded. As a tea table beside a floor cushion, a plant stand catching morning light, a tray on a windowsill, or simply a centrepiece that holds a candle and a stone — they carry that same quiet purpose they always have.
Because every bajot is unique, we are happy to send photos before shipping so you can choose your favourite.
Some objects don’t just fill a space — they settle into it.
Highly recommended!
